willweaverrva's Week 10 Ballot

RankTeamReason
Michigan Re-ranked the top 5 based on results and metrics. Predictably, Michigan and Arizona haven't moved a bit, and they are both way better than the rest of the field right now.
Arizona
UConn UConn has absolutely blasted their first four Big East opponents. They deserve to be here but with the caveat that tougher competition lies ahead.
Iowa State The Cyclones continue to churn and remain undefeated. Strength of schedule is pretty much the only thing keeping them from being #3 right now but if they keep up the momentum they'll get there.
Gonzaga Gonzaga drops a spot in my re-ranking of the top 5 after a major scare against Seattle U where they were very, very much not good during the first half.
Purdue The Purdue train continues to chug along...
Duke
Vanderbilt Vandy's dream season continues. I think they can beat Alabama - they have looked fantastic in all their games so far.
Houston
BYU
Nebraska Nebrasketball is for real, and it's a lot of fun to watch.
Alabama
Arkansas Coach Cal seems to have finally found his footing at Arkansas, they looked great against Tennessee.
Michigan State Not even Tom Izzo is a match for the force of nature that is Nebrasketball.
Texas Tech
Illinois
Louisville
Villanova After a bumpy start, Nova has rattled off some solid wins, with 4 of their last 5 being over top-100 opponents.
SMU New this week. SMU is a very quiet 12-2 with some solid wins, including a stunning win over North Carolina on Saturday. They might have what it takes to beat Duke this weekend.
North Carolina
Utah State
Kansas Kansas is looking pretty shaky already and they struggled against UCF (who are now "almost famous" as a result). The TCU game tomorrow is critical, and TCU just beat Baylor.
Tennessee
Virginia Ryan Odom recruits Dallin Hall from BYU while VCU is playing BYU in the tournament, Dallin Hall loses UVA the UVA/VT game. Poetic.
Saint Mary's New this week. It's time for the annual "Will is high on Saint Mary's" show. The Gaels do look good, though, handling a Seattle U team that took Gonzaga to OT.

Overall Rationale

DROPPED THIS WEEK: USC (22), Kentucky (24). NEW THIS WEEK: SMU, Saint Mary's. ALMOST FAMOUS: 26. Georgia, 27. UCF, 28. Saint Louis, 29. Kentucky, 30. USC. KEEPING AN EYE ON: Clemson, Miami (FL), Miami (OH), Seton Hall, George Mason, VCU.
