| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Purdue | 0 - Solid bounce back week after the Nebraska loss
UConn | 0 - I don't think they're the #2 team in the country right now, but the HoH over UNC is key here
North Carolina | +1 - They really seem to have figured things out. Clearly the top dog in the ACC
Tennessee | +1 - I know they don't have the HOH over KU. But it was a while ago now and they are playing better.
Kansas | -2 - They're 3-2 in the B12 (with losses to WVU and UCF) and could've easily been 2-3. I know it's Kansas, but they need to pick it up
Houston | 0 - Got a good win against Tech to kickstart their B12 journey. Curious to see what they do in BYU
Arizona | 0 - Not a very consistent team but as long as they keep winning in this weak P12 they'll be alright
Kentucky | +1 - Two solid home wins before back-to-back road games. I'll be watching those anxiously
Marquette | +1 - They needed to get stop the bleeding and win some games and they rose to the challenge.
Wisconsin | -2 - Suffered a bit of a hiccup at PSU but I still trust them week in and week out
Auburn | +2 - Their lack of great OOC wins still hurts them, but they look as good as anyone right now
Baylor | 0 - Tough loss in Austin to a desperate UT team. That's life in the B12
Oklahoma | +2 - Contrary to Baylor, OU bounces back with a nice road win in Cinci. Road wins in the B12 - even against newcomers - are going to be scarce so good for them.
Illinois | 0 - Happy to not have to drop them off 8 spots last minute like last week
Dayton | +9 - This is where things get dicey. Is Dayton the 15th best team in the country? I don't know, but I don't have any better idea
Seton Hall | NR - a 6-2 record in the Big East needs to be rewarded
Mississippi State | NR - They were 27th last week, which in retrospect was a bit too low. I really want to see them more against the rest of the SEC bubble to size them up properly
Clemson | -2 - Another subpar week for Clemson who clearly aren't living up to their OOC schedule. But to drop them I need teams in their place
Colorado State | +1 - Like the rest of the 16-25 segment, their play is unimpressive. But unlike the rest of the segment, they actually won this week (even though they struggled against bad opposition)
Utah State | NR - They win
Princeton | NR - They win
BYU | -5 - Still here off to their OOC. There's such parity in the B12 for now it's hard to put someone unquestionably above them
Utah | NR - Utah is great at home but they lack quality wins away from home aside from a win in Wake.
Ole Miss | -5 - Another team still here off the back of a strong OOC. Both losses to Auburn and Tenn weren't close, but those two are also two of the hottest teams in the country so I won't overreact
Creighton | Missed the cut: TTU, TCU, Duke, Nebraska, NW
Tier 1 - Purdue / Tier 2: UConn -> Hst / Tier 3: Zona -> Illi / Tier 4: Dayton -> Alabama (32nd)
