| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Arizona | (-) Definitive #1
Nebraska | (+1) I believe in Nebrasketball
UConn | (+1) Still think they have the best loss in the country
Purdue | (+2) They're close with Michigan but I'm more impressed with them ever-so-slightly
Michigan | (+2) Good rebound from last week
Houston | (+4) Well, it's official, I finally am a believer of this Houston team
Gonzaga | (+2) They're getting it done, albeit against easy opponents
Duke | (+3) Honestly debated having them jump Gonzaga but I laid back on that...for now
Michigan State | (+3) I think they're the best 2-loss team with a better resume than Iowa St
Iowa State | (-8) Rough two losses and I can forgive the Kansas loss but that Cincy loss is bad
Illinois | (+2) Best 3-loss team for sure and they honestly look better than a lot of 2-loss teams and debatably some 1-loss teams too
Vanderbilt | (-7) I don't think either loss is too terrible but you need to drop when you go 0-2 on a week
Texas Tech | (+2) After having a wobbly start to the season which worried me, they've really come into their own these past couple weeks
BYU | (-6) I debated keeping them above Texas Tech after losing to them just cause they have less losses but I think Texas Tech has the better resume at this point
Virginia | (+5) Now I still am lower on this Virginia team than most due to me thinking the ACC still isn't great, but they finally impressed me this past week so they deserve their rise
Alabama | (+2) Good recovery from last week
UCF | (-1) I guess I'll stay being the highest on them, but I'm just not gonna penalize them much for losing to the #1 team in the country in a close match
North Carolina | (-4) Another team that went 0-2 this week and neither loss is crazy bad but neither loss is that good either
Kansas | (NEW) And they're back and deservedly so after seemingly leaving Iowa St in shambles but they stay below North Carolina due to the head to head
Georgia | (-1) The loss to Ole Miss is not good, but also Ole Miss has been quietly being somewhat decent in SEC play and Georgia beat Arkansas this week so they kind of even out for me
Arkansas | (-4) After losing to Georgia and comparing their two resumes, I felt like I had to place them below Georgia
Saint Louis | (NEW) They keep winning which is great, their loss to Stanford got boosted when Stanford beat UNC which is great, and their win to Santa Clara boosted when Santa Clara beat St Mary's which is great
Miami (OH) | (-1) The one-place fall is not they're fault but that's the struggle they face when they play no one compared to the rest of the field, but they stay undefeated so they deserve to be in this top 25
Florida | (NEW) I was skeptical of them in non-conference, but the Georgia win had me looking their way last week which led into them really impressing me this week finally with wins over Vandy & Tennessee
George Mason | (NEW) I was between Clemson & George Mason for this last spot and maybe Clemson deserves it but that Georgetown loss is bad and, honestly, I love to root for mid-majors so George Mason earned this
OUT: Seton Hall (21), Iowa (23), Villanova (24), Louisville (25) - 26: Clemson, 27: Wisconsin, 28: Louisville, 29: Villanova, 30: Tennessee
