Gabe_i_guess's Week 14 Ballot

RankTeamReason
Arizona The Wildcats picked up a big win at BYU and then took out rival ASU. They still remain undefeated despite playing a very difficult schedule, so they stay number 1
Michigan The Wolverines picked up two huge wins vs Nebraska and at Michigan State. In all honesty, I think Michigan is the best team in the country, that one loss is the only thing holding them from #1
UConn
Duke Duke got a huge blowout win vs Louisville and then took care of business at Virginia Tech. The Blue Devils kind of look like the far and away best ACC team right now
Gonzaga
Illinois The Illini took out Washington and then went and won at Nebraska. Illinois is hot and looks like one of the best teams in the country
Houston
Iowa State
Nebraska The magical run finally came to a close with losses at Michigan and vs Illinois, but even then they still look like one of the best teams in the country, so they only drop to #9
Michigan State The Spartans survived at Rutgers and then lost at home vs Michigan. Sparty has had some issues, but they still win a lot. A loss vs Michigan doesn't drop them very far due to this
Texas Tech The Red Raiders took a loss at UCF. It's not a bad loss, but it does end the Red Raiders hot streak and drop them a tiny bit
Saint Louis The Billikens beat George Washington and then blowout Dayton. They just keep winning, so they keep rising as teams drop lose and drop below them
Kansas The Jayhawks get a massive jump with an impressive win vs BYU. I think I've been sleeping on the Jayhawks a little bit, so here is their respect.
Florida The Gators took care of South Carolina and Alabama both with ease. Florida is one of, if not the hottest team in the country, and the only thing really holding them back is those early season losses
BYU BYU took a pair of losses this week vs Arizona and at Kansas. I barely dropped the Cougars because they were well played losses vs good teams, and no one below them felt like they deserved to be above
Purdue Purdue took yet another loss at Indiana before bouncing back and blowing out Maryland on the road. I still think Purdue is a great team, but that sure was a rough skid, so they drop to #16
Miami (OH) The Redhawks squeaked out a win vs UMass and then pulled away late vs Northern Illinois. They drop a few spots for not looking great and because other teams deserved to jump them
North Carolina
Vanderbilt Vanderbilt stomped Kentucky and then survived vs Ole Miss. The Commodores seem to have righted the ship and like they are back in the right direction as a top tier SEC team
Virginia Virginia has a bit of a rough week with an OT game vs Notre Dame and a close game at Boston College, but they survived both. They slip a few spots for how close the games were against worse teams
Arkansas The Razorbacks survived at OU and then let Kentucky beat them at home. Arkansas looks really good still, they just lost a heated game against the Wildcats. They just seem to lack consistsency
Clemson
St. John's
UCF The Golden Knights picked up a close win on Arizona State and then a huge win vs Texas Tech. The Golden Knights keep winning and finally notched another signature win, so they jump into the rankings
Texas A&M The Aggies got a win at Georgia this week. A&M has managed to keep themselves at the top of the SEC heading into February. Even if they've played a relatively easy conference slate, they get rank #25

Overall Rationale

I'm still trying to reward teams who don't lose while keeping those truly elite teams near the top, even if they may slip up once or twice. A team like Saint Louis has slid up over time just because they don't lose, and teams above them consistently have. I decided to drop both Louisville and Alabama this week as they both got blown out a game, and UCF and Texas A&M seemed like teams who are more deserving at this moment as they both win consistently.
