Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama | Tough decision at 1-2-3, I understand any permutations |
| Houston | I still think Bama is ever so slightly better, this week's performances, especially against Memphis may make things clearer |
| Purdue | Those last two minutes against NW stuck out, they threw all the bodies at Edey and he didn't have any outs |
| Kansas | Huge week with two big wins |
| Texas | Not going to punish a close loss, bounced back with a trouncing of WVU |
| UCLA | Decent wins for a solid team |
| Virginia | Can we pencil in a loss? Still a good win over NC State |
| Arizona | Disappointing loss to a team that is probably better than its record says |
| Baylor | Impressive week, scary close against an undermanned TCU though |
| Creighton | My dark horse for the 'chip is slowly looking more and more like a favorite, I don't think I'm overrating them, they really are that good |
| Tennessee | Two unlucky losses, but those games were way closer than they should have been anyway (-10 and -12.5 respectively) |
| Gonzaga | All these losses result in a normal week leading to a big jump |
| Marquette | Porous defensive showing against UConn |
| Indiana | Another team benefitting from this chaotic week |
| Kansas State | I think I am still higher than others on TTU leading to small drop for this team who, at the end of the day, lost a Big 12 game on the road |
| Xavier | Shocking narrow loss, don't think it means too much about this future of this team |
| Miami (FL) | Made lighter work of Duke than Louisville? |
| Iowa State | Love this team, but I can't ignore a couple of winnable losses |
| UConn | Won't punish them on a close loss to Creighton, still grabbed a big win over Marquette, is the Big East the second best conference? |
| Saint Mary's | Cam. Shelton. What. Ken Pomeroy and Bart Torvik are rolling in their figurative graves |
| Providence | Still a good team, I don't like their odds against Creighton come Tuesday, but that game can explain a lot |
| TCU | Unfortunate skid for a team going through an injury bug, still could be dangerous come March |
| San Diego State | What an odd game against USU, still walked out with 2 wins |
| Pitt | This team's on a roll, could continue moving up with a relatively easy ACC schedule remaining |
| NC State | Tough loss against UVA sans Terquavion, good recovery against BC |
Just missed the cut (in no particular order): Nevada, Illinois, Texas A&M, Missouri, FAU
