| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Michigan | Michigan slides back up to #1 after Arizona finally takes their first (and second) loss
Houston |
UConn |
Arizona | While Arizona took two losses this week, the Wildcats stay at #4 as both losses were good, close losses, and there was a bit of chaos at the top. Zona still holds one of the best resumes
Duke |
Iowa State | The Cyclones drop from 4 to 6 due to their loss to TCU paired with their domination of Kansas. I let UConn and Duke pass them, but ISU still looks like one of the best teams in the country
Gonzaga |
Nebraska | Nebraska took another loss, this one coming to Purdue. Chaos at the top keeps them from dropping very far
Kansas | The Jayhawks picked up a huge win v Arizona before getting killed at Iowa State. These results mostly cancel out and they only move up one spot
Illinois | Illinois took an OT loss to a solid Wisconsin team, but they only drop two spots due to all the chaos around them and their overall body of work
Texas Tech | The Red Raiders jump a few spots due to getting a huge OT win at Arizona
Saint Louis |
Florida | The Gators took care of business decently easily against two solid teams this week, they slide up one spot
Purdue | Purdue got a huge OT win at Nebraska and destroyed Iowa on the road. The Boilermakers seemed to have figured out whatever was wrong and they move up a bit for a big week
Miami (OH) | Miami (OH) slides up due to inconsistency in the teams in front of them. 25-0 is impressive and shows the Redhawks are at the very least consistent
North Carolina | UNC fell for the obvious trap game at a good Miami team, then took care of Pitt without Caleb Wilson. They drop a few spots, but the Miami loss isn't that bad so they stay kind of high
St. John's |
Michigan State | The Spartans took a blowout loss at Wisconsin, so they drop, but they still seem like when they're playing good they can beat anyone
Virginia |
Arkansas |
Vanderbilt | Vanderbilt slides up a few spots after taking care of Auburn on the road and easily handling Texas A&M at home this week
Utah State | The Aggies get ranked for the first time in a while due to them being on a solid 7 game winning streak and really looking like probably the second best (non-Gonzaga) mid-major in the country
Miami (FL) | The Canes get ranked for the first time this year due to a their wins on UNC and at NC State this week, as well a decent 20-5 record. They seem like one of the best teams in the ACC
Louisville | Louisville gets ranked again as they are currently on a 5 game winning streak and they killed a good NC State team earlier this week
BYU | BYU slides down despite winning twice this week because they were not very impressive showings vs not very great teams after a rough losing streak
Other teams considered: Villanova, Wisconsin, Alabama Mid-majors on my radar: Liberty and SFA Teams who dropped out: Clemson, Kentucky, Iowa
