| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Duke | Cam Boozer is legit, told y’all to watch for Isaiah Evans too. Great win over a probably underrated Texas team.
Houston | Offense needs some time to gel.
UConn | A 53-7 run over UMass Lowell in the first half. Bad competition but still insane.
Arizona | Big time win over the reigning champs. Meant to rank them around 12th in my preseason poll but forgot, massive oversight.
Michigan | Offense looks great early, among the best in the country.
Louisville | Louisville may actually have the best offense in the country. First real test comes on Tuesday.
Kentucky | Offensive concerns against Nicholls were erased with a great performance against Valpo. First big test comes Tuesday in the Yum
Purdue | Only beat Oakland by 10, and in general there’s definitely some serious concerns with this team.
BYU | AJ Dybantsa is as good as advertised, but he’s surrounded by a really good team too. Good win over Villanova too, who put up a good fight
Florida | Lost to Arizona, but still put up a good fight to the end
Alabama | Maybe the best offense Nate Oats has put together for Bama. Big time win over St. John’s in what was basically a road game.
Illinois | The Illini just look unstoppable offensively early.
Gonzaga | Zags were rolling against OU. Definitely getting slept on. Put some respect on Jalen Warley’s name.
Tennessee | Nate Ament has shown some promise early on
St. John's | Put up a good fight but clearly didn’t have the horses to play with Bama. Need to get better against teams with more athleticism.
Iowa State | Defense looks as good as any team Otz has had so far for sure
North Carolina | GREAT win over KU, the first one over them in 24 years. Caleb Wilson is an absolute star in the making.
Michigan State | Sparty definitely has my attention now. Down at the half against Arkansas and came back to win. Gritty effort and good execution.
UCLA | Winning by just 6 over EWU wasn’t the best start, didn’t build much on it with a 9 point win over Pepperdine. Honestly not impressed with the Bruins so far but still early
Arkansas | Execution killed Arky down the stretch in East Lansing. Definitely some familiar calls from Cal to end the game. Need to clean some stuff up.
Texas Tech | Not much to say about Tech, their first test comes on Tuesday against Illinois.
NC State | Some nice wins for Will Wade and the Wolfpack early on
Indiana | Massacred Marquette on the road. The DeVries era is off to a great start for IU.
Kansas | Rough loss against UNC but still showed some glimpses in that game, can’t take early road losses that seriously, got a long way to go.
Georgetown | I think Georgetown’s legit. Exhibition win over UK aside, they also crushed Maryland in their house. Gonna be a darkhorse in the Big East imo
