zags-not-zogs's Week 2 Ballot

RankTeamReason
UConn They sure look good so far. The first real test is this week vs. BYU.
Duke Boozer sucked in the first half vs. Texas and still had a double double. This team is going to get very good very fast.
Houston Weren't as impressive as expected in opening week. But I still believe in the program and the pieces.
Kentucky Exciting team, can't wait to watch vs. Louisville
Michigan Even easing Lendeborg into the lineup, they look scary
Arizona If Koa Peat is going to be who he was against Florida, watch out.
Purdue They haven't impressed so far. It may just be due to TKR's absence––we'll see.
Alabama Very impressive road win at St John's. Their upcoming schedule is absolutely brutal, so we'll have lots of data points for this team soon.
Louisville Looking good so far. Can't wait to see them vs. UK
Gonzaga Looking like the Zags' best defensive team since '17. PG play needs to be figured out, but this team has a very high ceiling.
Florida Condon looked lost against Arizona, but bounced back against UNF. I think this team is still very good.
Illinois The pieces are coming together nicely. One of the more intriguing teams out there.
Texas Tech Injuries are probably not a cause for concern. Anderson looks like a star, and we already know Toppin is.
Iowa State Looking very solid so far. Jefferson is the key to this team's success.
Vanderbilt Props for going and winning on the road. This team is going to surprise people even more than last year's
BYU Not buying the hype. I love Keita. But I can see too much my turn, your turn happening with this team.
Tennessee High floor. We'll see what the ceiling ends up being.
St. John's You can't get in a track meet with Alabama. This team has some things to figure out.
Indiana Blasting Marquette was quite impressive. Can't wait to see what this team becomes
UCLA A real sluggish start for the Bruins. Cronin might lose his mind if the defense stays like this
North Carolina Good showing against KU at home. Hopefully Trimble's injury doesn't hamper this team's chemistry and identity formation
NC State Program revival pending...
Michigan State Good home win against Arkansas. The talent level is not super high, but Izzo is a wonder worker
San Diego State I really like the makeup of this team. I think they have a very high ceiling.
Saint Mary's Talent level seems low, but then again, it always does at SMC and they still end up being very good. Impressive showings against 2 decent mid-majors.
