Overall Rationale

Dropped Out: Indiana (14), SMU (18), Wake Forest (22), Santa Clara (23), George Mason (25) /// Mid-Major of the Week: Southern WBB! /// Full disclosure, after Kansas it's a log jam of a bunch of teams that I think are pretty close together, so there are some oddities with movements, so here's a quick Q&A! /// Q: Why did North Carolina rise 9? Is beating Kentucky and Georgetown that impressive? Why are they below Kansas with a H2H win? A: No, not really! It was more of a bit of correction because I think I might've been too punitive over their loss to Michigan State. In addition to that, since the rankings after Kansas are so close together IMO that my rankings are bit more predictive this week than I'd normally accept. As for why UNC ranks directly below Kansas, that was not entirely on purpose, but I do think at this moment, Kansas is the better team, not really at any fault of UNC (Seth Trimble injury). /// Q: What did Iowa do to get ranked? A: Honestly, I fully meant to rank Iowa last week anyway. /// Q: Why the hell is Florida ranked with 3 losses? A: The answer to this can kinda be found in the answer about UNC. Believe me, I am quite apprehensive about ranking Florida (and Tennessee, for that matter), but I do think that regardless of their losses recently, I think they are *probably* among the top 25 teams in the country. Frankly, it's partly a matter of me not thinking there are many deserving teams for being ranked. As much as I HATE the "good loss" stuff, it can't be denied that a loss to Arizona by 5 on a neutral floor and a loss by 1 in Cameron Indoor says just as much as wins over Providence or Miami do. Even a neutral loss by 4 to TCU isn't looking as bad as initially thought. /// Q: Why is Nebraska moving so little after a blowout victory over Creighton? A: I just don't really find Creighton to be that huge a win right now. It's a good win, obviously, but it doesn't move the needle much for me.
