Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kansas | +1, had them at 2 last week so it only makes sense to move them to 1 |
| Purdue | +1, not really much to learn about their games from this week |
| Houston | +1, Played pretty well this week but looked vulnerable against UCF |
| UConn | -3, Tough first loss, like I said last week it will be interesting to see how they respond over the next few games |
| Arizona | +1, very good road win against a solid ASU team |
| Alabama | +2, Very good road win in a place that can be very tough to win, scored more points against MSU than anyone else this season |
| UCLA | -2, Less convincing road win than the two teams ahead of them |
| Tennessee | +1, survived a close road game at Ole Miss, felt like they could've won more convincingly but a win is a win |
| Texas | +1, first true road game with an interim coach and pulled off a very good win |
| Miami (FL) | +4, could've had a letdown after their UVA win but managed to maintain their winning ways. Felt like they had done enough to jump UVA |
| Arkansas | -4, Shot very poorly on the road but still had a chance to win. Need someone to step up their shooting with Nick Smith out. Defense will keep us in almost every game but the offense needs to be better |
| Virginia | -1, classic Virginia win against GT, only dropped because Miami jumped ahead |
| Gonzaga | Same, still not convinced Gonzaga is a top 10 team, gave up a lot of points to Pepperdine |
| Wisconsin | +2, ok win this week, things get tougher starting Saturday |
| Xavier | +4, Huge win at home over the #1 team, not a team I would want to see in March |
| New Mexico | +1, still undefeated but only has a handful of opportunities in conference play to beef up the resume |
| Auburn | + 1, starts SEC play 1-0 but it wasn't the most convincing win. Has a big home game against Arkansas on Saturday to show what they are really made of |
| Duke | +3, Bounced back from the WF loss with a convincing win, has a tough game upcoming @ NC State |
| Indiana | +3, Played well against lesser opponents but will be tested over the next few weeks to see if they are a legit B1G contender |
| Iowa State | NEW, Huge win at home against Baylor, had a dominant second half and played some very good defense |
| West Virginia | -6, Played well but took a tough loss on the road, feel like they might've fallen too far but there were some deserving teams to put ahead of them for now |
| Baylor | -10, Big drop after running into Hilton magic. Very disappointed with Baylor so far this year, I feel like they have the talent to be in the top 10 right now but something isn't clicking |
| Charleston | +2, gonna be tough to earn signature wins in conf play but if they keep winning they should stay ranked |
| TCU | NEW, Solid win at home and have won 10 straight. Big 12 is a slaughterhouse once again |
| Missouri | NEW, weak schedule was holding me back from ranking them last week but they earned it this week. Another huge prove it game on Wednesday in Fayetteville |
