leprachaun77's Week Pre-Season Ballot

RankTeamReason
Kansas Hunter Dickinson and a lot of returners
Purdue Returning players and hopefully not an offense that lets you triple team Edey
Michigan State
UConn
Duke
Marquette
Arizona
Florida Atlantic Bringing back all 5 starters from a final 4 team, hard to rank them lower.
Tennessee Bringing in some offense to a team that can definity play defense. Not sure about the Zeigler status though
Texas 3 returning starters and adding Max Abmas to an elite 9 team. BIG 12 champions
Houston Lossing Sasser and Mark were the backbone, Cryer is a good replacement but Sasser kinda built the program
Kentucky Great recruiting class, slow start to the season expected but good team. Cal is not great though.
Miami (FL) Bringing back 2 great piece's from a final 4 team that lost to the champ
Creighton Ashworth is good enough to justify thinking they'll be similar to last year
Gonzaga
USC Boogie Ellis and Collier are good enough to get a preseason top 20
Alabama Lost alot of pieces', decent transfers and a strong belief in Nate Oats puts them at 17
Auburn Broome and Williams are back.
North Carolina Davis and Bacot back is good, but this team was a mess and the transfers are underwhelming
Kansas State I like the returning members and the coaching staff. 3rd in the BIG 12 is pretty good
Arkansas Starting from scratch, good coach. Don't think Battle is very good at all.
San Diego State Lost too many piece's
UCLA Almost a whole new team, the new blood is to chaotic it could work out. The coaching staff got them to the top of the PAC 12, maybe they can do it one last time
Villanova Not super impressed with the transfers and finished 17-17 last year
Baylor Langston Love is holding them here. Don't believe in transfers or freshman.

Overall Rationale

The rationale was a balance of transfers and recruiting class values. In almost all cases a returning player would be viewed more highly than a transfer due to how a new player will change roles and take time to get accustomed to a new system. Abmas and Dickinson are definitely viewed as the most significant transfers. St. Johns has too much to change to make the list but they are probably the most likely to get onto it in the near future.
