| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Purdue | Returning 2 all-american caliber players
Houston | A fantastic combo of returning depth and sky-high ceiling freshman
Florida | If their transfers hit they have as high a ceiling as anyone, but a drop off from the above 2
UConn | Incredible from 3 and unfortunately coached well
Duke | I really like their returners, plus Cam Boozer is a nightmare matchup
Texas Tech | Huge JT Toppin fan but Christian Anderson might be even better
Louisville | Never discount Pat Kelsey, he's insane
Kentucky | If Otega Oweh plays like he did last year they have such depth I can't see many teams outplaying them for 40 minutes
St. John's | Transfer heavy and I don't know how much last year was Rick Pitino and how much was serendipity
Michigan | Yaxel could be incredible... or just really good.
BYU | They were trending up well end of last season, i don't know if they'll continue but they might
Tennessee | Ament is a top 5 freshman in a stellar class and Ja'Kobi Gillepsie was incredible in the crab 5 last year
Alabama | Labaron Philon shone last year, I think he improves
UCLA | Maybe a top 5 point guard in the Big Ten, which also means a top 5 point guard in the US
Iowa State | I always overpick them and then they underperform at the end of the year after surging in the beginning
Gonzaga | Tyon was superb last year at times and I think Ike was a matchup nightmare already last year
Michigan State | It's hard to argue against Izzo but I think they thrive in the improved Big Ten this year
Arkansas | I can't trust Cal, even if he did well last year
Arizona | Two great freshman who I think will be great... eventually
Wisconsin | Blackwell could be stellar again this year
North Carolina | They should overperform now that people are low on them, at least that's what always seems to happen
Creighton | Double Iowa transfers? And to a bordering state?
Kansas | See UNC above. Also I actually like their transfers this year
Illinois | Half their team isn't ready to start the season but they should be good by the end of the non-con
NC State | They're better than auburn or Oregon
Preseason rankings are a crapshoot. That's ok, March is what matters.
