| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
UConn | Hinges on one of Johnson, Reed, or Singaire providing + rim protection.
Houston | Kelvin Sampson has an extraordinarily high floor at this point
Arkansas | Talented roster + a pissed of Cal, maybe a reach this high but we shall see
Kansas | Not as in as most others but a super talented (and old) roster + Bill Self
Duke | For them and the next team, I believe in the young talent
Baylor | ^
Gonzaga | Supposed to be Few's best team in a few years, Venters injury hurts though
North Carolina | really struggled with who I wanted here but RJ Davis is a monster
Creighton | Very high floor, Mcdermott+Kalk has been a fruitful combo
Alabama | Call it a hunch, but no-one is overrating NC-State so...
Auburn | They should be able to rebound after last years ending
Xavier | Sean Miller revenge tour, plus team is supposed to be healthy
Purdue | Painter also has a high floor ATP, Edey will be sorely missed
Arizona | Let's see how good Tommy Lloyd really is, nowhere to hide in the B12
Iowa State | They'll play defense really really hard
Indiana | I don't think Mike Woodson is a bad coach, the roster is also pretty good
Illinois | Lowest floor of any team so far, but the talent is there
St. John's | Rick Pitino+Kadary Richmond... nuff said
Michigan State | Either Izzo turns it around or he "retires", I think he's got some tread left
Cincinnati | Have some momentum to build off of from last year, lets see what they do with it
Tennessee | Kenecht aint walking through that door... that said they'll still be ok
Texas | If they're any worse that seat starts getting hot for Terry, I think he'll do just enough though
San Diego State | Worst roster Dutcher has had in the last few years but they're still capable
Saint Mary's | Loss of Mahaney is huge, but they still will defend at a high level
Providence | Bryce Hopkins is very good at basketball and the team plays hard for English
Constructed this without looking at KP+Miya+AP+Torvik rankings because I wanted to avoid group think and not be influenced by other lists. When games begin, will make use of the analytical sites to supplement the eye test. Made use of a roster spreadsheet to determine roster strength.
