ItsCommonGamer's Week Pre-Season Ballot

RankTeamReason
Duke Coach Scheyer has another elite roster
Florida Florida returns 4 good starters. They are the best in the SEC
UConn Last year's runners-up should be a championship favorite yet again
Illinois Good mix of returning starters, top recruits, and good transfers
Arizona Have a couple really good transfers coming in
Houston A little high based on the rankings I've seen, but Houston always seems to be slightly underrated. Games against Arizona should be electric
Michigan State Jeremy Fears is back. Hard to doubt a Tom Izzo squad
Tennessee A huge transfer class. Could they be this year's Michigan?
Virginia I feel they are a tick above Miami & Louisville as the ACC #2
Arkansas Similar to Illinois. A good balance of returners, recruits, and transfers
Louisville Another team bringing in a lot of transfers
Kansas They have a good shot to bounce back this year
Texas Looking at the AP poll, I was surprised they were 7. They have some good transfers though, and I'm willing to be proven wrong ranking them at 13
Gonzaga Playing in the revamped PAC-12, I'm curious to see what the Zags do
Miami (FL) What comes of the Malik Reneau situation?
Alabama With the current state of Alabama football, will the Tide eventually become a basketball school? (This is obviously sarcasm, but Bama b-ball should be solid)
Iowa State Nothing special, just a solid team
St. John's Consensus Big East number 2
Michigan Dusty May leaving stings. Still a good team.
Purdue Lost some talent, but hard to doubt Purdue
Texas Tech Solid team. Should be a 5 or 6 seed in March
Vanderbilt Another quietly good team
Kentucky Will this Blue Blood reclaim glory?
UCLA (Read Kentucky)
USC Big question: Rodney Rice health!!!

Overall Rationale

First Five out: BYU, Ohio State, North Carolina, Missouri, Villanova
